Continuing the trend for contemporary woven cane furniture, Italian-Danish design studio GamFratesi have designed the Targa range for Gebrüder Thonet.
The Targa line uses steam-bent beech structures with Thonet’s renowned Vienna woven cane
The Targa line combines bent wooden structures, woven cane and full upholstery to offer an elegant two-seater sofa and accompanying armchair.
The new pieces are well suited to both contract spaces as well as residential homes, offering a contemporary interpretation of Thonet’s traditional signature bentwood chairs.

About the Designer: GamFratesi is a design agency, which was founded in Copenhagen in 2006 by Danish architect Stine Gam and Italian architect Enrico Fratesi. This Italian-Danish coupling brings together two gifted European design traditions: a magical union between Southern and Northern design. And the result: the Rewrite desk, designed like a bubble, a little jewel of modernity and softness.
